JAN 08 CONFERENCE

THE SECOND NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH CONFERENCE

was held on Saturday, January 12th, 2008, from 9am to 5.30pm. The meeting took place in the John Clare Lecture Theatre and Ada Byron King Building, Clifton Campus, Nottingham Trent University.

On this occasion the Conference was organised jointly with NottsWatch, the Neighbourhood Watch Association for Nottinghamshire.
 

Speakers:

James Brokenshire MP: Shadow Home affairs Minister with special responsibility for Anti-Social Behaviour.

(ii) Steven Green MA, QM, Chief Constable of Nottinghamshire.

Workshops:
(i) Cold-calling.
(ii) Crime Reduction.
(iii) Accessing ALERT, the Neighbourhood Watch Website.
(iv) Training of Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinators and Scheme development

Plays:
Presentations from Trading Standards, Nottinghamshire.

Exhibition:
Commercial exhibits and presentations from professional and voluntary
agencies.

Attendance at the Conference was free for Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinators and members of their Schemes.
A large buffet lunch and light refreshments were provided.

Around 250 people attended the highly successful event.
