2007 CIVIC RECEPTION

Over 200 neighbourhood watch members attended a Civic Reception, hosted by the Lord Mayor of Nottingham, in the Council House on Wednesday April 4, 2007.

The highlight of the evening was a speech from Vernon Coaker MP, Minister of State at the Home Office (see photograph).

Jon Collins, the Leader of the City Council welcomed the guests and pointed out the valuable role played by Neighbourhood Watch in combating Crime and Anti-social Behaviour in the City.

Peter Usherwood, Chairperson of the CNNWC thanked the Lord Mayor for an excellent Civic Reception, that recognised the important, and often unsung, work undertaken by Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators across the City. He thanked Vernon Coaker for giving his valuable time and for his encouraging comments on the Government’s support for the Neighbourhood Watch Movement. On behalf of the CNNWC he especially thanked the City Council, through its Leader Jon Collins, for its invaluable support of Neighbourhood Watch.
